Dr. Brandt Skincare is a premium dermatology and skincare brand competing in one of the most crowded verticals in ecommerce. After three years of abandoned SEO, they partnered with SEOasis — and in just 73 days, we drove a 334% increase in organic revenue, doubled their average order value, and turned organic search from an afterthought into a real business driver.
The Challenge: A Three-Year SEO Drought
When we first engaged with Dr. Brandt, the brand had already tried and given up on SEO years earlier.
- The breaking point. After unsuccessful internal SEO attempts through 2021, the team was told that SEO was “completely useless” and optimization efforts were abandoned for three years.
- The consequences. The business leaned almost entirely on paid advertising. Organic revenue represented a mere 3–4% of total revenue, leaving massive growth potential untapped.
- The reality. Average Google ranking positions sat between 16 and 21 across target keywords — effectively invisible to anyone not willing to dig past page two.
Discovery: What the Audit Revealed
Before touching a single page, we ran a full audit. Three specific issues stood out:
- Schema fragmentation. Structured data was implemented incorrectly, stitched together by disjointed fragments from various Shopify apps. Collection pages had no schema at all.
- Internal linking void. There was zero internal linking structure on collection pages, and no bottom-of-page content to support SEO or guide users deeper into the catalog.
- Backlink deficit. Dr. Brandt had only 754 high-quality backlinks compared to competitors commanding between 1,000 and 13,000 authoritative links.
Phase 1: Setting the Foundation
1. Schema Unification
We overhauled all schema markup and consolidated it into a single, clean theme file. We then added proper collection page schema that listed every product — giving Google and AI search engines a clean, consistent reading of the entire catalog.
2. Internal Architecture
We implemented a strategic internal linking structure across all important collection pages and added bottom descriptions with carefully placed internal links. This distributed authority throughout the site and gave search engines clear signals about which pages mattered.
3. Quick-Wins Optimization
We targeted the top 10 “tipping point” pages ranking between positions 6–11. Small, surgical optimizations on each one pushed these pages onto the critical first page of search results — producing measurable revenue lift within weeks.
Phase 2: Building the Content Engine
1. High-Volume Targeting
We built new collection pages targeting competitive, high-volume keywords in the skincare space to capture top-of-funnel traffic that the site had never competed for.
2. Long-Tail Expansion
We created sub-collection pages targeting long-tail variations and used strategic internal linking from those sub-pages back to the main collection pages, supporting them with topical authority signals.
3. Keyword Clusters
We focused on high-intent clusters: eye bag cream, pore cleanser, facial cleanser, and niacinamide — matching Dr. Brandt's product strengths directly to proven search demand.
4. Authority Building
We placed high-quality backlinks strategically to support priority keywords and raise domain authority in the highly competitive beauty search landscape.
